I don't see my Adobe Standadr Standard X listed to be able to select from. Yet I go to "ask me anything" box and type Adobe Acrobat Standard X and it pops up listed as a "desktop app". I followed your steps and unfortunately it does not change the default to open with Acrobat Standard X; it still opens it in reader.
